It is just ok

This is a professional microneedling pen that provides amazing performance. Very easy to use and it comes with multiple needle heads and working speeds that will accommodate different skin types. So far, it works great.

My wife ordered this Hydro pen months ago but has been afraid to try it because of the needles. She used it today and is so mad at herself for taking this long to do so. She says that the instructions were very easy to understand, and that after she had adjusted the needle to her preferred setting and added her favorite serum, it didn't hurt like she expected. Her skin did feel a little irritated afterwards, but she quoted "no pain no gain". The irritation only lasted about an hour and that it really just felt itchy not painful. She will continue to use it weekly and we will update you with any skin improvement details.

I've been eyeing this product for a little while. I have old acne scars, and I wanted to see if it helps. I have just started using the pen, but I fond it easy to use. You really have to make certain your skin is healthy and moisturized, or you might get irritation. The disposable needles help to keep the process sanitary. I recommend closely reading the instructions before you start.

I got this machine to do my own micro needling and the machine is easy to use. It has many cartridges and I really like it. It works very well and like I said it’s very easy to use. I definitely recommended to anyone.

I always wanted to try my own microneedling but was hesitant to do so because I was unsure on which pen to buy, etc. After finally breaking the seal with this one and just giving it a go, I was surprised at how EASY it actually was! It's a very nice pen - comes in high end packaging, the pen itself is a nice design - looks very professional. It's cordless so it's super flexible to use. Comes with a lot of cartridges and great directions so you can get started with ease. Not that you really need the directions, honestly...it's so easy! Just turn it on and glide, and bam, you are microneedling. It has an auto serum function too so it makes continuous deposits to make sure your skin stays moist while you go. Overall, I'm glad this was such a good experience to use because it's boosted my confidence that I can do this myself...so it's definitely becoming a part of my regular routine. Highly recommend this pen - it's sure to be the new MVP of your skin care regiment!!

I found it a bit odd that the instructions state to hold the device with needles pointing downwards in order to avoid the oil back-dripping into the pen. Considering the fact that users would most likely be using this one themselves, the pen would be held at a right angle against the skin, so the manufacturer didn't account for this. I microneedle in front of a mirror so I can see what I'm doing. I don't have the luxury of laying down and having someone else use this device on me just to keep the pen in the instructed position. Needless to say, when I'm done using it, I do have oil the back drifted into the pen. Outside of that 1 issue above, this pen is amazing! UT charges easily, and the battery lasts a long time! The box comes with 3 different needle types, but be aware that the needles are 1-time use only! You will have to invest in the disposable needle kits. The more you consistently use the device, the faster you'll have to purchase needle kits. The device has 5 speeds, so you can adjust it to your sensitivity.

3/31/24 Someone from Dr Pen reached out to me to offer a guidance on how to use this pen. They were very interested in me being happy with my purchase. They walked me through the issues and we followed up with each other for a few weeks. I’m happy to report that the instructions I was given were able to improve my issues. It clarified that the gurgleling sound is normal. It was recommended that I tilt my head to allow for the flow of serum. Having said that I am still having a bit of an issue with it when I am upright. There is not a constant issue but there are times when the serum just flows out rapidly and drips and then there are other times when it does not. I can’t fully blame the pen. It could be the consistency of the serum or that I have not found the right combination of speed and flow. In conclusion, I can say that I am happy with this product and better yet, report that their customer service is outstanding. If you have any doubt based on other reviews, know that their customer service stands by their product and wants to be of help. PRIOR REVIEW: The concept of being able to introduce your own cocktail treatment while microneedling is great! However this pen doesn’t work. Perhaps I received a defective one…who knows. What happened the first time is that the pen would make a gurgling sound, product would either not come out or suddenly come out in a large amount. Second time nothing came out, so I took the vial out checked it placed everything back in and made sure of all my dials were correct. Started again and this time…again all the liquid started coming out at once, gurgling sound again. I stopped the process and quit my session. I might purchase again once all the issues are resolved.

I love this so much better then my other Dr. Pen products. This doesn't hurt as much as the previous products and injects my serums right my skin. It's easier to use then previous Dr. Pen products. After using it once my skin looks great! Several people at work have conmented on how good my skin looks just this past week alone. I will be ordering one for my daughter for her birthday and recommended it to all my friends turning 30 or older. The only complaint I have is that the cup for the serum is a little small. I'd prefer a bigger size so I don't have to stop to refill it when doing my face. It's still a lot better then things I have used in the past.

I LOVE micro needling but I don't like the small talk and the setting of getting it done professionally. This is a great alternative for me. I can mix my own serums to inject and I get so much more out of the treatments since I can relax and actually enjoy the treatment. The tanks are a little small so you have to stop halfway thru to refill but to me that's better than paying $100 plus each time I go to get it done. Not to mention the small talk, the awkward pauses, I'm just not a people person. This pen is GREAT and so easy to use.

This review is based on first time use, I used the nano-needling part but the dispenser does not work at all I even used the recommended Hyaluronic acid. However, my face is so shiny for the first time with the same products I use all the time. I just had to apply HLC to the area by hand. I gave it 4 stars because it beats spending $250 a session with less pain. I’d recommend using it at night that way your skin will definitely look so fresh in the morning.

It's easy to use, effective, and worth the investment.

I know some reviews say it's slightly painful when using it on your face but I think it's subjective. I don't feel any pain while using this but moving on from that this pen works very well. After just a few uses I could tell the difference easily. I'm 43 years old and I been told several times over by many that I look 10 years younger. I didn't think much of this product at first, believing it was just another over priced infomercial type of product that promises this and that and doesn't live up to the hype. I can't say this about this Dr Pen because this is actually the real deal. If you get this it's money well spent! Definitely has my recommendations 👌

I started getting facial treatments about a year ago and while I love the result it is really expensive. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get the same result at home but so far it’s been fantastic. I love seeing the decrease in wrinkles and fine lines. It’s worth every penny.

I got this to help reduce the menopause related acne scars I got in the past few years. How rude...I never had acne going through puberty but I get it going through menopause when my skin doesn't have the same elasticity??? Hmph! Anyway, I am hoping this helps and I will update this review in several weeks. For now I will review it based on ease of use and my first few experiences with it. I really like the weight of this pen. It's substantial and doesn't feel cheap. Without looking at the instruction manual I could figure out that you held down the power button to turn it on and then there were 6 speeds to cycle through. I also saw that you could adjust the depth the needle could penetrate, up to 1mm, by twisting the top. Then I got into the instruction manual and the problems began. The instructions are written in the TINIEST font ever. I could read it but the associated diagrams were relatively useless, other than the schematic of the pen itself. For instance, the needle head can be adjusted for the viscosity of the serum you decide to use but that diagram was unreadable and it was hard to understand where to align the indicator on the cap in order to set it to 1, 2, or 3. I had a thicker serum so I wanted 3 and I am still not sure I successfully set that. It also wasn't clear if I should be angling the back of the pen upwards to assist the flow of serum. The videos on the product page helped a little with setting the viscosity level but everyone seemed to hold the pen with the end angled down but I don't know if that's correct or not. I've done a couple of sessions with this, using 1mm over my scars and 0.5 on the more sensitive forehead. It did produce a couple of tiny pricks that brought up blood, but I also have broken capillaries on my face so that could be from that. I did not find it painful. But after it looked and felt like I had a sunburn. I washed my face and applied my night cream and went to bed. The next morning the sunburn feeling and look was gone but there was still a light flush. It was rather nice. The second experience with this was similar. I will come back and update in a few weeks to report on how my scars look. At this moment I think this pen is nice quality, comes with a healthy amount of supplies, is competitively priced (and cheaper than the spa), and easy to use. It's worth considering as an option. Just, it's better if you already know what you're doing.

This little pen does the job. It really gets underneath the outer layers of my skin. I didn't think that it would be so good. And my serums going right where it needs to be. Love it.

This pen seems to do as it advertises, however I can say that I do wish that it would have come with instructions of which serums or even which tops to use for either need. The battery life seems to be pretty long, but I haven't had the need to charge it yet. The pen has 6 different speeds and the top needling cap can be adjusted to the appropriated depth. While it may take awhile to notice results, based on the design and use, I an optimistic about this working.

I’ve been an intermediate user of micro-needling pen for years. This is a new model has incorporated LED light therapy and a serum storage container, which provides convenience for the treatment but also requires further adjustment on speed and depth setting accordingly. Must sanitize/disinfect the work area(surface) where you set up and proceed with your micro-needling session and wear gloves for the operation. Be cautious with the tiny ‘wounds’ just created after treatment, stick with pure HA serum and keep skincare routine simple until micro-peeling is over. The positive outcome would be guaranteed if the commitment to following instructions is well made. Would recommend this beauty tool to the intermediate/advanced users.

First I want to say that Dr Pen is amazing. I have 2 of their cordless pens. This is my first time trying the H3 and I use it specifically for the nano heads. So instead of using my older pen for both the needling and nano-ing, I know use this solely for nano. Which means it's being used more often. 1x/week. Straightforward and easy to use the skincare plump effect and the circulation after use is awesome. You really wouldn't believe the difference it makes until you try it.
